Paper and packaging - Pears

On a not so sunny afternoon we set out to an orchard in up-state NYC. Armed with our CG scene setup and some concept art, we set about capturing the idyllic orchard setting above. We pre-visualized the shoot in CG before setting foot on set so we could spend as much time chasing the perfect lighting as possible. The day was very overcast which actually worked to our benefit. We brought strong lights with us and set about shaping and lighting each tree individually in plates.

When we got back into the studio, we created our little packaging character in CGI and integrated him into the scene using the HDRI lighting we captured on set. Finally, we combined all our plates back together, removed all the apples from the trees and replaced them with pears and, voila!
